| Car camping at Thomas Boyd Track Head which is on the Goobarragandra River. We are treating crack willow on public and private land downstream of the camp site and possibly doing some native seedling planting. Over the last 2 years there has not been enough snow melt runoff in the river to paddle this exciting whitewater river. But if there is sufficient water we will take the rafts and inflatables and work from them otherwise we will be accessing the river across private land. We will also undertake monitoring paddles upstream of Thomas Boyd Camp site. This activity is part of a project Willow Warriors commenced in 2004 to monitor the river for re-infestation of black willows but following requests form local landowners has grown to control Crack willows on some properties to restore the native vegetation and protect the habitat of the Tumut Grevillea and Booroolong Frog.
This is a grade three section of river and we will be using river guides.
This project is funded by The NSW Environmental Trust
