Black Willow Monitoring onthe Goobarragandra River Macs Crossing to Kells Lane 2 to 4 October 2004 PDF Print E-mail

This trip was carried out by Friends of the Colo members and Willow Warriors was formed on this trip. The activity checked (monitored) the river for black willows as there was no monitoring plan established after the black willow control project was completed in the region in 2004. We mapped the willows by taxa between Macs Crossing and Kells Lane and treated any black willows we found along the way.

The data collected on this activity was the basis of the Envirofund grant aapplication made in the following year. We also treated some more crack willows on the TSR and met some private landowners so starting a relationship with them which led to getting permission to treat crack willows on their property.
