Trip by Willow Warrior volunteers to camp at Thomas Boyd Track Head for three days and paddle the Goobarragandra River to look for black willows of other willow taxa seedlings growing into view to remove from the river. The second day we paddled from Macs Crossing to Thomas Boyde Trackhead. We foud and treated 11 black willow seedlings and 12 crack willow hybrid seedlings plus 5 sites where crack weeping hybrid willows were growing from pieces of debris where they were growing in the water and could not be treated. We noted that the most of the large hybrids have been lopped but the landwoner has planed more of them aalong his bank. We old fond 9 seedlings near the row of willows thiss time but that was probably because the river would have been flooding over the gravel bed during the seed set last spring.
